Major swine operation looking to expand
PIC USA, a swine breeding operation with 3,000 sows
producing 60,000 baby pigs a year, wants to expand into Campbell County within

The US$17 million multi-building facility would employ approximately 57
staff members, said Marly Hiatt, business development manager for the company.
The PIC operation would have five sites ranging from 5 - 30 acres.
Opponents have concerns about odour and waste handling and supporters
point to the economic boom for the county. Nevertheless, everything is in place
