Germans hope to see China opening up

German authorities are trying to reopen the Chinese market for pork,  beef and corn.

Chinese vice-minster Zhirong Ge, in Berlin last week, signed an agreement with German officials to improve information exchange and cooperation.

For that reason, a task force has to start working on terms for removing the export ban on pork, beef and corn. More details will be discussed in January 2007, when an important Chinese delegation will be welcomed in Germany during the country's Green Week.

Poultry

On the other hand, China hopes to see German relaxation on poultry imports, as a German ban on Chinese poultry has been in place since the AI outbreak.
