Diagnostics and immunity of ileitis (Special 2005)

Porcine proliferative enteropathy (PPE), also known as ileitis, is a common infectious disease that affects weaned pigs of various ages. The disease is often difficult to recognise because the signs are non-specific or lacking, but there are now techniques to diagnose PPE and detect immune responses in affected pigs.
