Neovia seminar focusing on pig gut microbiota

French feed additives company Neovia, part of Invivo, recently zoomed in on the latest research related to gut microbiota at a special seminar.

The event, held at EuroTier 2014, in Hanover, Germany, attracted over 60 people from 18 different nationalities. The company is conducting a lot of research trials in its 13 research & development centres all over the world. In addition, the company also has collaborations with independent institutes and universities, enabling to enter deeper in the understanding of its products’ mode of action.



The scientific seminar highlighted two collaborations with French partners on gut microbiota and gut inflammation, two main issues of current pig production:



Pauline Anton-Gay, LaSalle Beauvais University, France, is a researcher and lecturer specialised in intestinal inflammation. She explained about the high potency of natural active ingredients to modulate gut inflammation. She said that the association of these active molecules is synergistic inside the company’s product Powerjet.



Jordi Estelle i Fabrellas, from the French national institute of agricultural research (INRA), is a researcher on gut microbiota. He spoke about how to better understand the relationship between health and zootechnical performance. Through supporting this work, Neovia would like to deeper know effects on gut microbiota of specific ingredients able to modulate it such as one of the most innovative products of the range (B-Safe).



Marie-Laurence Le Ray and Thomas Dumont, Neovia product managers, then detailed the field applications of these research works for pig producers and the expected gains regarding their farm conditions.
