One of Brazil’s biggest events in the pig sector, the PorkExpo, is going back to its roots in its next edition in 2014. The fair will be held between 28 and 30 October at the Mabu Thermas Hotel and Resort in Foz do Iguaçu, the city that hosted the first edition of the event.

Group AW’s chairman, Flávia Roppa, responsible for the new edition of 2014, said: “The difference will be that the next PorkExpo’s programme will be technical-scientific and totally redesigned with major Brazilian experts and the world beyond the back of the Pork Festival. For PorkExpo 2014, already there is close partnership with Safeway Solutions Lectures and Events, which will be responsible for organising, marketing and promoting the event,” she said.

In last year’s edition held in Curitiba , the PorkExpo featured more than 100 participating companies from the areas of nutrition, health, and genetic equipment. Despite the crisis that struck the pig sector in 2012, Flávia Roppa ensures that the event marked clearly the opportunities and strength of swine production in Brazil. She said, “Despite the crisis, the event was the dedication of the union sector and had the full support of organisations and producers.
