In a deal with Danish pig breeding specialist DanAvl, Finland's Finnpig is set to receive DanAvl's pig genetics. The boars, supplying Finland's sows will boost the gentic potential of Finland's pigs.
"It is a great breakthrough for DanAvl to enter the Finnish market, I believe it is because we can demonstrate proven results in terms of feed conversion and low mortality rates - results which can also benefit Finnish pig farmers," says Nicolaj Nørgaard, CEO of the Danish Pig Research Centre, which owns the DanAvl brand.
